Maybe the act of killing a puppy would be more justifiable if he had simply shot the thing in the head and not made a joke out of it. He said that he couldn't have helped it, and it would have died a slow, painful death anyway. But I don't see how laughing while hurling the poor dog though the air, over a cliff where it could possibly lie there dying an even slower, more painful death is "putting it out of it's misery".

That was possibly one of the saddest things I have seen in a long time. I think it was around 10 minutes after watching that I stopped crying. Then I found my dog and gave her a hug. You really are cruel.. if you didn't care about that dog, you should have just let it die slow like you thought it would. I don't feel he deserved a punishment. It's because men, NOT WOMEN! Men can do this and not think twice about it. This is why you want guys like him on the front lines defending out nation. No remorse, no holds barge, this is the type of person you want on YOUR SIDE! I'm about to go into the military, and I don't know about videotaping this shit, but if I was in the same situation I would have done the same. Reason's being 1) Your issued only so much ammunition, only after battle situations do you get more 2) If the animal was seriously (without a doubt that is) that it was going to die, and someone at base would have shot it, snapped it's neck, etc then yes I would have done the same, or just broke it's neck and threw it or 3) Used my combat knife and slit it's throat. Some of your are squeamish, sit at home and judge the military day in and out. We probably shouldn't be over there in Iraq or where ever, but at least if it came down to him, US civilians and the enemy you know who'd come out in the end because he wouldn't have to think twice about his actions.

It's not right, but if you were in his situation- in the fighting & under stress, & having your life in danger every second- you probably wouldn't give a shit either.
