Opposing train was to stop before their signal.
Video (our) train would simply pass on the siding track.
Opposing train engineer and conductor apparently had been doing drugs. (May have been asleep.)

Opposing engineer did not radio our train that he could not stop before the switch.
Million$ in damage.
Our engineer hurt but recovered.

Hope the engineer went to jail, but do not know.

The red signals were not purposely ignored.

Some druggy, with the same brains as you for proposing such a stupid idea,
was not paying attention and failed to bring his train to a stop before the signal.

Apparently he did not warn the other engineer that he was not stopping in time.
